v2.0.0Latest
Oct 7, 2026
  • featTailBeat is now bought once instead of by subscription. The 7-day trial stays as it was: no account, no card, nothing switched off (Settings › License)
  • featThe start page lists every TailBeat tool that is running - on this Mac and on your network - with its status: what it captures, how many rows it holds and how big its store is. Stop its capture or quit it from there
  • featOpen a running tool to follow its log live in the same table, with search and filters: pause and resume without gaps, or clear it. A tool on another Mac asks for that Mac's key once (Enter Key…, Add by Address…)
  • featiPhone and iPad logs no longer need an administrator password: TailBeat reads a connected device as you, without a background service
  • featThe command-line tool and MCP server are now free and work without the app: install with `curl -fsSL https://tailbeat.app/install.sh | sh`, add it to Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP-capable tool, and your agent captures and searches the logs of this Mac, its simulators and connected iPhones and iPads - no licence, no trial
  • featNew app icon
  • coreThe MCP server inside the app is this free tool now. It stays at TailBeat.app/Contents/MacOS/tailbeat-mcp, so existing MCP configurations keep working - and its tools no longer stop when the trial ends
  • coreA licence key from a subscription keeps unlocking TailBeat for as long as that subscription runs
  • coreThe separate tailbeat-relay helper is gone from the app: the relay for Connect to Another Mac is part of the same tool (copy tailbeat-mcp to the other Mac and run `tailbeat-mcp relay install` there). A relay installed earlier is updated the next time TailBeat connects to it
  • coreThe background service that earlier versions installed to read an iPhone is no longer used, and the app no longer contains it
  • coremacOS asks once whether TailBeat may find devices on your local network - that is how the app finds the running tools. Without it, Add by Address still works
v1.2.0
Jul 26, 2026
  • featStream another Mac's logs over the network: copy the bundled tailbeat-relay helper to the remote Mac, run `tailbeat-relay install`, then Connect to Another Mac… - the same live table, search, and no-drop capture as local logs, protected by a token
  • fixLong log lines no longer draw over the Source column while a search is active
  • featThe remote app picker is now the real thing: the remote Mac's running apps with their icons, selected by bundle id just like local - and your locally watched app no longer silently filters remote logs (picks are kept per session, in both directions)
  • fixRemote Mac polish: the app picker now lists the remote Mac's apps (not this Mac's), first-connect errors explain the macOS local-network prompt, and the home-screen card got its missing icon
  • featAI agents can watch a remote Mac too - the new connect_remote_mac MCP tool streams and searches the remote Mac's unified log
  • featThe remote-Mac relay keeps itself up to date - an outdated tailbeat-relay is auto-updated the moment TailBeat or an AI agent connects (token-protected, signature-verified)
  • featSelect log rows and press ⌘C to copy them as NDJSON (one JSON object per line)
v1.1.0
Jul 16, 2026
  • featTailBeat's MCP tools for AI agents can now open a saved Apple log archive (.logarchive) - from a sysdiagnose or `log collect` - and search it, so an agent can investigate a capture without reading the whole file into its context
v1.0.0
  • featTailBeat is now a subscription - monthly or yearly. Start with a 7-day trial: no account, no card, nothing switched off (Settings › License)
  • featSwitch TailBeat between Light and Dark independently of your Mac (Settings › Appearance)
  • featSettings has a new home for your updates, licence, and About
  • featOptional, anonymous usage statistics help us see which features get used - switch them off any time in Settings › About. Your logs never leave your Mac
v0.2.0
  • featSet a maximum database size - TailBeat purges the oldest logs to stay under your limit (Settings › Storage), so capture can't fill your disk
v0.1.1
  • fixFix log streaming from connected iOS devices
v0.1.0
  • featInitial TailBeat foundation: CI, Developer ID signing, notarization, and Sparkle auto-update
